Sophie grew up in the Washington, D.C. area and moved to Fairbanks with the Alaska Fellows Program. She is a recent graduate from Bowdoin College in Maine, where she studied Environmental Studies and Biology and worked in communications for the Sustainability Office and edited the student newspaper. Her research experience includes studying terns with the Audubon’s Seabird Institute and community ecology at the University of Connecticut at Avery Point. She is passionate about communicating stories of the environment and has been enjoying exploring Fairbanks!
