CCHRC WEATHERIZATION TECH 1 TRAINING
April 29 – May 2, 2024, 8am – 4:30pm
This comprehensive 32-hour training is designed to equip workers with the knowledge and skills necessary for weatherization renovation work. From essential health and safety practices to hands-on training in various techniques, participants will gain valuable insights into the field. The program also includes insightful tours to a window manufacturing facility and the Cold Climate Housing Research Center, providing a practical understanding of the industry.

Firewood Harvesting in Interior Alaska

Did you know that the time of year that you harvest your wood changes when it is dry enough to burn? Join us for a virtual class on how to optimize your firewood harvest in Interior Alaska. Whether you have been using firewood for many years, or you would like to start using wood to heat your home, this class will give you helpful information for the healthy practice of harvesting, storing, and burning firewood.
Alaskan Healthy Homes
Tuesday November 7th, 5:30pm – 7pm
Join us for a virtual class with Dr. Julie Cascio on how to make your home environment more healthy! Hazards of mold, pests, toxins, and gases could be present in your home and adversely impacting your health. This program will look at ways to identify hazards and ways to make your home more healthy and safe.
Heat Pumps for Homeowners
Tuesday October 24, 5:30pm – 7pm
Join us for a virtual class with Dr. Tom Marsik on heat pumps for your home. Heat pumps can heat and cool your house while saving you money. Learn how heat pumps work in colder climates, and if a heat pump is the right choice for you!
Winterization for Homeowners
Tuesday October 17, 5:30pm – 7pm
Join us, along with Shelby Clem from RurAL CAP, for a virtual class on how to prepare your home for winter. Whether you are a seasoned Alaskan or new to the state, this class will give you helpful tips on how to stay warm, safe and dry as the weather gets colder.
