Welcome to Interior Alaska's Portal On Retrofits Training And Loans
The PORTAL was established in July 2008 to assist residents in making their homes more energy efficient through the state's Weatherization program and its Home Energy Rebate program.
Homeowners who visit the PORTAL can find the resources they need to start and finish a home energy retrofit, including contractor listings, information about improvement options and help with paperwork. The PORTAL also hosts free consumer workshops through a partnership with the Alaska Craftsman Home Program and the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation.
Because the PORTAL is a project of the non-profit Cold Climate Housing Research Center all its services are free.
The PORTAL is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM M-F at the Cold Climate Housing Research Center, 1000 Fairbanks Street, near West Valley High School and UAF. Please call 455-HEAT (455-4328) for directions.
