CCHRC develops prototypes in order to demonstrate experimental building and energy technologies in a northern climate. These demonstrations range from integrated heating and ventilation systems to adjustable foundations for permafrost soils. Many of the building products and standards developed in the Lower 48 don't apply in the challenging climates of Alaska, and these demonstrations allow us to test out innovative solutions for the world's cold regions.
