Wood Stove Operation & Wood Shed Design Overview
Session 1 of 2
Friday May 10, 5:30–7:30 PM
Engineer David Lanning will cover the physics of wood stove operation and provide 10 secrets to get the most efficiency out of your wood stove. Then CCHRC staff will preview the wood shed workshop with an overview of the shed design, steps to build one, and safety considerations.

Session 2 of 2
Saturday May 11, 9 AM until sheds are finished. Lunch break at 12.
CCHRC staff will guide groups of participants in constructing 1-cord wood sheds following the Fairbanks North Star Borough’s step-by-step manual. All materials for shed included in cost of class. Participants have the option of taking home a completed shed or building it at home; transport of the completed shed or the kit of materials is the responsibility of the participant.
$125 for CCHRC members; $150 for non-members. All materials included.
Participants should wear appropriate protective gear. Participants are responsible for transport of their finished wood shed, or the kit of materials. Wood sheds and / or materials must be moved within one week of class.
Both sessions located at CCHRC at 955 Draanjik Dr., Fairbanks, AK.
Limited to 20 students. Must be over the age of 18.
