Robby Tartuilnguq Strunk is a joint Project Intern with the Cold Climate Housing and Research Center and partner organization Information Insights. He is Yup’ik from Kuinerraq (Quinhagak), a village of about 700 in Southwestern Alaska. He attends the University of Alaska Fairbanks majoring in Math with a minor in the Yup’ik language. Robby grew up experiencing the effects of climate change firsthand which sparked his interest in environmental science and the sustainability of Alaska Native communities. CCHRC hits close to home because he grew up seeing his classmates moving into homes designed by CCHRC that were adapted to the ever-changing climate.
