Daniel M. White, Assoc. Vice Chancellor for Research, Director INE, joined UAF in 1995 and in 2010 was appointed to Associate Vice Chancellor for Resarch and to head of the Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization. Dr. White is also a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UAF. Dan’s interest and expertise in the traditional field of sanitary engineering led him to conduct research on drinking water protection, development, and treatment. Dr. White pioneered research on how climate change affects drinking water, water resources, and related infrastructure. Dr. White’s work has led to a better understanding of water resources for rural communities as well as the potential impacts of climate change on freshwater resources and infrastructure.
